      <para>This instruction is used to guard against
the execution of instructions that are not the intended target of a branch.</para>
      <para>Outside of a guarded memory region, a <instruction>BTI</instruction> instruction executes as a
<instruction>NOP</instruction>. Within a guarded memory region, while
<xref linkend="ARMARM_PSTATE">PSTATE</xref>.BTYPE != <binarynumber>0b00</binarynumber>, a <instruction>BTI</instruction>
instruction compatible with the current value of PSTATE.BTYPE
will not generate a Branch Target Exception and will allow execution of
subsequent instructions within the memory region. For more information,
see <xref linkend="ARMARM_MDSec.PSTATE_BTYPE">PSTATE.BTYPE</xref>.</para>
      <para>The operand <syntax>&lt;targets&gt;</syntax> passed to a <instruction>BTI</instruction> instruction determines
the values of <xref linkend="ARMARM_PSTATE">PSTATE</xref>.BTYPE that the <instruction>BTI</instruction>
instruction is compatible with.</para>
